Lot Note(s): Signed in pencil, lower right recto; the script letters 'PS' in pencil, upper right corner, recto; signed and dated in pencil, upper center verso; the stamped date "20 Feb 1939" verso; collector and gallery ink stamps, verso. Painted on cream wove paper. Very good condition; slightly ragged left edge where the work was removed from a sketchbook; scattered faint marginal spots; marginal dimples and a 1/8" tear left margin; tape remains verso. A Letter of Authenticity (LOA) accompanies the work.
