Comment(s): A similar, and larger, composition than our example, “Composition Cubiste,” (watercolor and ink on paper, 13 3/8” x 9 3/8,” c1919) sold for $35,235 (£22,500) including premium at Sotheby's London, New Bond Street, 02/06/2013, lot #105. Csaky was a Hungarian avant-garde artist, sculptor, and graphic artist, best known for his early participation in the Cubist movement as a sculptor. A pioneer of modern sculpture, he is among the most important sculptors of the early 20th century.
