Comment(s): A work by Picabia, ‘Espagnole,’ comparable to our example in composition, size, medium, and year of creation, sold for $50,110 (€45,080) at Pierre Bergé & associés, Paris, December 18, 2019, lot #200. Picabia was a French avant-garde painter, poet, and typographist. After experimenting with Impressionism and Pointillism he became associated with Cubism.
