Lot Note(s): Signed and dated in pencil, lower right. Edition unknown, presumed extremely small, if any. Printed on cream wove paper. Ample margins. Fine, strong impression. Very good condition; paper discoloration verso, a few small areas faintly visible in the margins, recto, creasing upper and lower left corners, not into the image, predominately near the left edge; presents very well. Provenance: Provincetown Bookshop, Provincetown, Massachusetts. Comment(s): Woodcuts by Tomlinson are rare and highly sought after. She was a resident of Provincetown, a New England town located at the extreme tip of Cape Cod in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. It is famed for its "White Line Color Woodcut" artists, of whom she was one. Tomlinson actively created prints there from at least the early 1950s to the mid 1970s.
