[email protected] for provenance information and additional image(s). Comment(s): Lipchitz worked primarily as a sculptor and his paintings are very scarce/rare, e.g. Artprice.com has 694 sculptures in its database and only 15 paintings. This makes it difficult to estimate the value of a work of his at auction. In addition, we were unable to locate any auction records of a collage work by him. So, the closest comparable that we could find is “Composition à la guitare,” oil on cardboard, 7 7/8" x 11," c1918-1920, sold for $64,685 (€54,600) including premium at Artcurial, Paris, 11/28/2017, lot #159.
