Artist: Erich Buchholz (German, 1891-1972).
Title: "Nicht objektive Zusammensetzung [non-objective composition]".
Medium: Gouache and ink drawing on paper.
Date: Composed c1921.
Dimensions: Overall size: 8 x 6 5/16 in. (203 x 160 mm).
Lot Note(s): Signed with the monogram/initials in pencil, lower right recto; collector ink stamps, verso. Painted on cream wove paper. Overall very good to fine condition; a few scattered fox marks verso, not visible recto; jagged top edge, the sheet probably removed from a sketchbook. Buchholz was a German artist in painting and printmaking. He was a central figure in the development of non-objective art in Berlin between 1918 and 1924.
